Description
Racing Carb Conversion EFI 2001-2013 Harley-Davidson
17403 – TCFI Gen 4 Spark ONLY Controller – Racing Carb Conversion for 2001-2013 Harley-Davidson® with 36 Pin Delphi® System
RACE USE ONLY: Not legal for sale or use in California or on any pollution-controlled vehicles.
· Fully programmable Spark ONLY plug-in replacement for the 36 pin Delphi® controller using the J1850 data bus. This unit does not support 2008 and later touring models with electronic throttle control. Additionally, it does not support 2011 and later models using the CAN data bus.
· Designed specifically for drag race, off-road carburetor conversions where the carburetor controls fuel delivery.
· Powerful Windows-based software enables custom programming and advanced data analysis.
· Extended data logging and onboard diagnostics capture up to 60 minutes of operating data at 10 samples per second using DataFLASH memory.
· Precision billet aluminum housing features a durable black anodized finish.
· Simple plug-in installation allows fast setup with no wiring modifications.
OE ECU must have a 36 pin Delphi connector.
- Exception: American Ironhorse EFI models use a 23 pin connector. Therefore, these applications require part number 30081 or 30881.
Bike MUST retain the following components:
- MAP – Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
- VSS – Vehicle Speed Sensor
- ET – Engine Temperature sensor
- CKP – Crankshaft Position sensor
- Coil – 0.5 ohm EFI Coil (our PN 2009)
Once installed, the customer MUST set the correct VSS frequency before uploading the spark control file. Otherwise, the speedometer will not function correctly.

TCFI Installation
PC Link Software for Programming Custom Advance
PC Requirements and Connectivity
PC Link software runs on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8. However, we no longer support older operating systems. The software allows users to program all engine control tables and parameters within the Twin Tec TCFI system.
Additionally, the minimum PC requirement includes a 300 MHz Pentium processor with an SVGA display at 1024 x 768 resolution. The TCFI connects to the PC using the supplied USB cable, and the computer must have a free USB port.
PC Link uses 3D tables for ignition advance and fuel control. Meanwhile, 2D tables manage functions such as cold start enrichment and idle air control.
Speedometer Calibration and VSS Scaling
On 2004 and later models using the J1850 data bus, the ECM converts VSS pulses into data for the instrument cluster. Because scaling varies by tire size and gear ratio, PC Link allows users to adjust default scaling and recalibrate the speedometer and odometer.

User Inputs and Outputs
The TCFI includes configurable user inputs and outputs. For example, inputs can trigger data logging, ignition retard, ignition kill for air shifters, or staged RPM limits. Likewise, outputs can activate relays, RPM-based switches, throttle-position switches, or NOS systems.

PC Link software is free! You can download the latest version along with instructions at any time. Additionally, the software runs in demo mode without a TCFI system connected.
TCFI Data Logging Software
Real-Time and Recorded Engine Data
The TCFI provides advanced data logging capabilities. During dyno testing, you can view real-time engine data on a virtual instrument panel. At the same time, the system records up to 60 minutes of data at 10 samples per second.
Afterward, you can download and review the data using chart recorder displays. This capability significantly improves fine tuning and simplifies drivability diagnostics.

Operating Statistics and Diagnostics
The software also downloads operating statistics and historical diagnostic codes. These statistics include total engine hours, firmware identification, RPM band elapsed time, maximum RPM, RPM limit duration, and engine start count.
Furthermore, the software lists historical diagnostic codes along with the number of engine start cycles since each code last appeared. Users can also clear diagnostic codes directly from the software.

Histogram Analysis
By selecting the Histogram button, elapsed RPM band data appears as a color-coded bar chart. Blue indicates idle, green represents normal operation, and yellow to red highlights high RPM usage. The chart automatically scales for optimal visibility.
